Hi, I'm Mike, and I've got a great job.

I photograph festivals, agricultural shows, fitness competitions, weddings, parties, and most events where people are having a good time, right across the East of England — usually from somewhere in the middle of it.

A man in a white T-shirt with his fist in the air, laughing, surrounded by a sunlit outdoor crowd with their hands raised at Norwich Yoga Festival.

Since picking up my first camera in spring 2025 I've barely put it down. I'm a little addicted to chasing the moment: the laugh, the crowd mid-surge, the games, the people who make an event an event.

A boy in a white shirt lying flat on the dance floor, grinning up at the camera and holding a bunch of white balloons, with the bride's dress just behind him.

Mostly, I just love people. They're silly, fun, a little bit mad, usually a little shy, and all looking to connect. So I read the room — honestly, that's most of the job.

I could be shoulder to shoulder at a day party in front of a stack of speakers, sat with the group in a forest workshop, or chatting away on the edge of a stage. Either way I'm in among it, having a laugh, because comfortable people give you the pictures that watched people never will.

You get memories of the people, for the people. You also get your event properly documented, and a stack of content for promoting the next one.

Two thousand people at a festival or one evening in a butcher's shop, you get the same from me. Suffolk based, all over Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, and happy to travel.
