A day party that didn't behave like one. Glowsticks, flat caps, a packed floor and a DJ who never stopped grinning — shot in the thick of it for Funktion Events.

A few hundred ravers at Kiki's in Cambridge, on a day party that ran like a proper night out.

Low light, a packed floor and a green venue logo throwing colour over everyone in front of it. Friends squeezed into hugs with their drinks up, someone winking and flexing both arms mid-song, two mates in winter hats pulling faces an inch from the lens, and a DJ with orange hair grinning behind the decks under pink light.

Rooms like this only work if you're in them. You can't photograph a crowd like that from the edge — you end up with the backs of heads and none of the feeling. So I was on the floor with everyone else, which is why so many of these are people looking straight down the barrel and enjoying it.
